EXPERT COLDWORKER
"I love all things coldworking. Let my enthusiasm for this meticulous process help bring your vision to reality."
BEHIND-THE-SCENES
magic

Coldworking can be defined as manipulation or alteration of glass without the use of heat, using water-fed machines and techniques to grind, sand, cut, polish, etc.

I work with clients from all over the world! This includes artists, galleries, art collectors and even independent owners of precious glass objects that need attention. My work is often the unseen step in the manufacturing or repair process of glass artwork. Glass artists almost always work in a team, and each person has a specific skill set that they bring to the project to ensure the process and final piece is seamless. You can think of me as the “finisher” or the one who takes care of all the finishing touches. Although it’s the artist’s work, they hire me to help bring their vision to life.

Kristin has spent the bulk of her career practicing her art in the beautiful PNW. She's worked alongside some of the most talented artists in the world. In addition to running her own coldworking studio, she is a devoted hot shop team member of the renowned Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington.
An often-unsung hero, Kristin meticulously perfects beautiful pieces of glass art, focusing on intricate details that are not possible during hot glass processes.
This technique is also important when pieces with sentimental value become damaged. She can mend just about anything made of glass. There’s no project too small, including your great grandma’s heirloom. She’s up for the challenge and enjoys every opportunity to bring something back to life.
